I'm 22... now what? I know! Let's go sit on ponies!

So one could say very delayed on this update. Yet the life of a cadet is a roller coaster and I wouldn't change it for the world! (Okay there's a few things I'd change) But being 22 finally and locked to base one has to get creative.
My silly butt decided to pick the coldest Saturday where frost made all the pine trees white and the Academy was stuck in a cloud. So I picked this wonderful day to go COVID-safe/distance trail riding on the Academy grounds.
And boy oh boy did we get a crew of personalities! My friends included but I mean the ponies! The big ponies! And the personalities clashed.

But I gotta say Randy lucked out with the jack-ass of the group. No he was not a literal donkey, though he was stubborn as hell and would want to go to the front, so we let him. Then he'd just stop and stand there thinking something along the lines of, "I've done it! I've achieved absolutely nothing getting up here!" Now the curly-cued jackass was the one all of us would wiggle to the back. He was bitter sweet.
Then there was Einstein, who's actual name was Frankie. The smartest in the crew who had hair sticking out like one of the those crazy chickens. A huge painted Clydesdale who had clearly taken the winter to gain a few pounds. But perhaps he was just fluffy.
See the resemblance?
Then there was Doofus aka actually Jack who liked to show off his butt. He seemed to loath everyone else so would do everything in his power to get to the front. However, would just meander at his own pace pissing all the others off.

Then there was Rusty, who was from my good old home state, Texas and the name suited him. So what a perfect f
it for the two Texas natives. He was more your typical trail riding horse who didn't really mind. He knew the drill, but was sly as hell trying to take me towards the 7 min trail instead of the hour which we desired.
Then there was Pops, who I got no clue what he did back at the end of the line, must've been a secret because Helen never told me.
However, seeing the Academy grounds a bit more was enjoyable, though we definitely spent an extra half hour out there because we might have taken a wrong turn in the criss crossing of streams and little hiking trails which weren't really hiking trails.

Only YOU Would pick the coldest day to go horse back riding!

That I did!
But I have never seen two cadets talk more about summer leadership than on that ride. While Parker and I were smoking and joking about, you guessed it jets planes, and changes in policy which we found ridiculous. The two knuckle heads in the back were yapping away about their plans and interviews they were doing.
All in all I think life gave me some beautiful gems who I call friends!
