So I get lost more frequently than most... okay maybe A LOT of the time I get lost. I take a wrong turn or I miss the exit even with apple maps. However... its how I found this inspiring little place, which actually got me to want to start this mini-blog series which will hopefully please the coffee gods!
-Classic Tale One in a Series of Infinite Adventures-
ie: I don't know how many I'll do damn it!
Way Finder Coffee
The grind of finals was upon us college kiddos!
That means its time to survive on nothing but coffee! We all know the feeling or even if you don't; the 2 am study sessions with a cup of joe next to you and your notes scattered all about ,as you yet again, dry up a high lighter down to the very last drop of its ink filled life!
Woah, wait hold up. I'm getting ahead of myself. I still had a whole week before that shin-dig at the time.
Back track a few steps on what this log was actually supposed to be about!
A series.... Now, now I know what you're probably thinking, it's likely along the lines of: she gonna do a series? With her lack of consistency in blogging and posting? Really??? I'm skeptical.
You are not wrong. My incoherent posting of blogs does not have the greatest track record. But, we are all learning here. You get to learn a little bit about my life as I take you on small sometimes mis-adventures which turn out the be the grandest things in my life! Cause no one can do what I do, exactly how I do it and that is the beauty of life itself. As well, I pride myself in valuing the small little things in life that people tend to forget about.
Which is why, without further delay. Here is the collection of tales where I went coffee shop hopping throughout the month of April.
Lost and Found
Let me first rewind back to the month of March, where I realized from reflecting and journaling in my month review that I had an incredible amount of pent up stress from school and all the obligations that come with it. My mood had mostly been upset and frustrated by the load of work and seeing the same four walls constantly. So.... I decided to get out of my home which was no longer my sanctuary but a conglomeration of where I worked, ate, slept and would just repeat it all damn day after day. Instead I will term this my hidey-hole.
The hidey-hole which keep in mind I shared with one person....and whoever else came over. The constant differing of our work schedules didn't help with my sleep either. SO my darnedest idea decided to remedy that with coffee and getting out and away from the hidey-hole which had once been a place where I went in and could get away from the hectics of it all. Instead it had become another place where it all conglomerated.
At first I would go to your typical Star Bucks on base when getting approval to leave was difficult. (Yes, I know, it is a very girl thing to do). But it was a small little perk where I could study in the adjacent room at a large wooden table and sprawl next to large windows. On sunny days the room was bright and occasionally a student would come play piano which was a nice touch to the atmosphere.
Yet, my sense of seeing and exploring was still hungry. So I hoped in my car busted out my trusted aid of Siri put in the farthest coffee shop I could find away from USAFA and.... couldn't find it. I was driving around in circles trying to figure out where this was. But there was no Crystal Coffee. Doesn't exist, I can't find it so if anyone has any pointers let me know.
However, when I had given up on my entourage and was just going to head to the local cadet magnet of cafe's I spotted a neat little hole-in the wall. It was hidden away set right next to a liquor store in a the middle of a street of apartments. Makes sense get your coffee and then your alcohol.
This was Way Finder Coffee. Let me tell you, as small as this joint was I did not expect it to be a crammed with people as it was. But I was relieved. I was off campus, and I had no troubles here. Okay, just my statistics homework which was still nagging in the back of my head. Actually is was more than just stats, there were plenty more subjects too but that's not the point of this story.
This little nugget though is golden, even as I was hoping I could find a seat, despite the long line I kept my eyes pealed. Everyone else in line was doing the same and it was a race to snag the next open spot. Luckily, I managed to snag a booth and a small table where I spread all my possessions out so that everyone knew--that spot was mine.
Greedy? Yes, but I only took a small table unlike a guy three tables over who hogged three to himself and really, only needed one.
Now, the next question is always, the coffee. Since it was my first time there I took the recommendation of the barista. She recommended the "Colorado Campfire". No it didn't light up like a flaming Margarita. It did have a very delicious roasted jumbo marsh-mellow and came with your classic teddies-graham crackers (you know the ones with the bears on them in the blue box). However, it didn't come with chocolate, which I would suggest if they really want to get the camping spirit in the coffee going.

Look I'm no coffee connoisseur, I'm just a consumer, but Way Finder Coffee brought me back to my childhood where I grew up around the world moving from place to place and seeing different things.
The maps along the walls and rustic homey feel of strangers coming together, or old friends meeting up was a wonderful way to start off my April and also the first of this series.
Welcome to cafe hopping.
