Finals were approaching... so what smart decision did Lily and I make? We decided to go baby sit some doggies!
Date: Sometime in the merry month of May...
Duration of Travel: 30 min

The intent was for this post to be a backup post if we were ever restricted to base again and the only 3 coffee shops available would be the classic blonde chick savior Starbucks, or the indecisive hours of Dunkin' Donuts, which constantly plays on my ever dwindling luck to be open. Third, my personal make shift, COVID friendly- dorm room bunker coffee bar which takes up only a total of 6 square feet.
However, since it seems things are becoming controlled chaos, it's time to post this little find. Now I say find, because I personally have never been here before, but the locals of Castle Rock know what I'm talking about when I mention Lost Coffee. The catch is Lily and I weren't lost! We just wanted to get out of the house and study somewhere to mix up our typical Academy library surroundings.
Not only that, but we had agreed to look after the two dogs for Lily's coach. Who hated us at first but soon tolerated us since we weren't leaving. I am no dog whisperer by any means, but if all else fails just give them dinner early and their whole world with turn right side up immediately.
"Human, give me your food"

To the point where they will come bug you for anything and everything at any time of the day...especially when you are trying to study in the early morning!
Lost In Statistics With Coffee
Lost Coffee was an open shop and perfect for the summer time air. The place where we decided to hunker down for a few hours was on a little cement valet which had plenty of room for us both to sprawl out.
Now, I enjoyed the atmosphere more than I did the coffee and the barista Kevin, was friendly, though I will say was a bit too adamant about how sweet the hot vanilla latte was. Yet, it did do the job of keeping me awake to study. Sure the cars and people were lively but sticking in head phones and really learning how to focus is an important skill. Lost Coffee provided us both a way to get out from the Academy and be a bit more relaxed with ourselves.

But alas the weather was not having it this summer and with our unintended luck, we decided to visit the public library which wasn't far down the road. There I will admit is where most of our studying and prep for finals happened. Yet, the best part was it sheltered us from the summer down pour for a few hours.
Food For Thought...
This year was a roller coaster, but I have learned a few things while blogging and getting out. Biggest thing is to do this at my own pace. And also...now that this set of finals is over... I got one more year left. Onto being a big bad senior at the top of the food chain baby!
