Was saving this one for a rainy day, to have a little coffee and a muffin warm our souls...after going there three times. The tale of Third Space Coffee House.

Third Space Coffee

"Sometimes you just need a little break to reset and go at it again"

There is something to be said about the winter of Colorado. It's cold, it's chilly, it snows. Though there are several days when the sun comes out. And in the midst of all the cadet life and hectics of the last semester at the Academy some things don't change.

One of those being that my butt some how ends up at Third Space Coffee again with a friend or two. After an unsuccessful Saturday of Jump (see my series of blog post here for more insights on that) and snagging Chick-Fil-A by our wonderful element leader Tom!

All of us are hoping for 5 jumps total to snag those silver wings! As of right now we're hoping for just one! :D

Regardless of the snow, and the sun peeking out from a full night of solo cleaning Lily and I decided to decompress at Third Space Coffee shop. Her nose stuck in a philosophy book reading something about Plato's Republic I took to bullet journaling. With my stickers, washi tape, and assortment of aesthetically pleasing pens/highlighters.

Kind of just like now I really didn't know what to write about. There was nothing to let out nor really reflect on. Some might argue that means you're not looking hard enough, yet after a while I realized that's okay, it meant I was content and comfortable.

There were no worries of school, the next fastest task, or emergency. There was just me, and my lavender coffee + banana bread and a book. Even now I think about writing about my goals, or how those are going. But I know from the past my bullet journals were spunky and reading through them over the winter break there was a sense of fire and spark attached to their verbiage.

Sort of funny how it all comes around. At the beginning of new years everyone is so fueled to get at it immediately. Make these lofty goals, focus on self care. Nothing wrong with that! Absolutely encourage it because I still do it! Though after four years of it, I suppose I've normalized it.

Ever since I started this blog there was an intense desire to grow it and I expected it to sky rocket just as all the you-tubers and social media gurus said. "Do this, do that!" "It will work!" or the best "I have the latest secret to your success!"

That's all fine and dandy if that's you. But for me... I think I've found something that's more important to me. A calmness. I'm content with myself. That is something that I don't think the next youtube business model or spokes person couldn't give me. Yet I also believe that's not their job, that's something I had to come to terms with myself.

Perhaps its because I am comfortable with where I'm at. I know where I'm headed and even with the uncertainty paired with excitement of a new step up in life. A blog post is usually supposed to share things, or express a lesson that someone can take away. Maybe some can, but all I can really tell you is the basic idea of how I did it.

I found a quiet spot, got a cup of coffee and did something new. But I kept it small. I definitely stated off big! Too big! Ambitious, yes, but I see now that's what I wanted, and not what I needed.

So if you can, just start small.... with a cup of coffee.
